1. Who we are

Designing Media operates the online store at designingmedia.com and supplies digital website templates and related services. For data-protection purposes we are the controller of personal data collected through this website.

2. Information we collect

We collect only such personal data as is necessary to operate the store, deliver digital goods, process payments, administer refunds under our Refund Policy, prevent fraud, and provide support.

We do not ordinarily require a postal address or telephone number for digital-only orders. We do not collect special-category data and we do not purchase marketing lists.

3. Legal bases (UK GDPR / GDPR)

Where the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies, we process personal data only where a lawful basis exists:

• Contract — to accept and fulfil orders, deliver downloads and licences, provide included support, and process eligible refunds;
• Legal obligation — tax, accounting, anti-fraud and consumer-law requirements;
• Legitimate interests — security of the store, improvement of checkout, prevention of refund and chargeback abuse, defence of payment disputes, and limited analytics, balanced against your rights; and
• Consent — non-essential cookies such as Google Analytics, which may be refused or withdrawn at any time.

4. How we use information

• to complete checkout and deliver files, licence keys and receipts;
• to provide author support and any professional services purchased;
• to administer refunds under our Refund Policy;
• to prevent fraud, misuse and unfair payment disputes following digital delivery;
• to operate the cart, authentication and checkout; and
• to measure site usage via Google Analytics, as described below.

We send transactional email only (receipts, downloads and support replies). We do not sell personal data. We do not operate a marketing newsletter unless you have separately opted in.

5. Refunds, delivery and payment disputes

Our products are digital goods. Download or licence access constitutes delivery. In order to operate the store fairly, we retain order and delivery records and may disclose them to PayPal or your card issuer where a case or chargeback is opened, together with links to our Refund Policy, Terms and Conditions and this Privacy Policy. Support correspondence you send may form part of that evidence. Such processing is for contract performance and our legitimate interest in resolving disputes.

We do not sell personal data. We share it only with processors who assist in operating the store, under appropriate contractual protections:

• PayPal — payment processing and dispute handling (PayPal Privacy Statement);
• WordPress / WooCommerce hosting — store and order infrastructure;
• Google LLC — Google Analytics (Google Privacy Policy);
• Tawk.to — optional live chat (Tawk.to Privacy Policy);
• Email and support tools — transactional communications; and
• Professional advisers or authorities — where required by law or to protect our rights.

ThemeForest / Envato Market is a separate marketplace. Purchases made there are subject to Envato’s privacy terms and refund rules.

7. Payments

Checkout payments are processed by PayPal. Card details are entered on PayPal’s interfaces. Designing Media does not receive or store full card numbers or CVV codes. PayPal may process data outside your country of residence under its own policies and applicable transfer mechanisms.

8. Cookies and analytics

You may control cookies via your browser. Blocking essential cookies may prevent checkout from completing. We do not presently use advertising pixels; if that changes we shall update this Policy and obtain consent where required.

9. International transfers

We accept orders internationally. Personal data may be processed in countries where our hosting and service providers operate, including outside the United Kingdom and European Economic Area. Where UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies, we rely on adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses (or equivalent safeguards) as appropriate.

10. Retention

• Orders, invoices and delivery logs — retained for so long as tax, accounting, consumer law and dispute defence reasonably require (typically up to seven years);
• Accounts — until closure is requested, subject to residual legal retention;
• Support records — ordinarily up to twenty-four months after the last reply, or longer where a dispute remains open; and
• Analytics — in accordance with Google Analytics retention settings.

11. Security

Checkout is protected by HTTPS/TLS. Passwords are stored as irreversible hashes. Access to order data is limited to personnel who require it for fulfilment and support. No online service can be guaranteed completely secure; where a notifiable personal-data breach occurs we shall notify you and the competent authority as required by law.

12. Your rights

Depending on your place of residence (in particular the United Kingdom and EEA), you may have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, portability, withdrawal of consent, and complaint to a supervisory authority. Requests may be sent to support@designingmedia.com from the email used at checkout. We may verify identity before responding. We may decline erasure of records we are required to retain for tax, licensing, refunds or fraud prevention.

13. California residents (CCPA / CPRA)

California residents may request to know, delete or correct personal information and are protected from discrimination for exercising those rights. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising as defined by the CPRA. Requests: support@designingmedia.com.

14. Children

The store is directed to adults purchasing business and website templates. We do not knowingly collect data from children under sixteen (or under thirteen in the United States). Please contact us if you believe such data has been provided.
